It's the royal gate of the "citadelle" which was build in the XVII century to protect Lille (a city in the north of France). It was built by Vauban under the reign of Louis XIV who took the city away from spain.

this picture has a such a awesome old look. its detailing is perfect.. usually if a picture has alot of detail it ruins it. but this one is great
